Kehila has a long tradition of working to protect the lives, rights, and dignity of those outside of our own community. The Social Action Committee organizes and publicizes opportunities for individuals and families to contribute to this work.
Kehila continues a tradition of advocating for economic and social justice, locally, nationally and internationally.
Monthly Mitzvah Collection
Kehila sponsors monthly collections in the “Mitzvah Box.” Each month, we suggest that each Kehila family donate one small item, valued around $10, to help low-income and homeless men, women, and children.
Interfaith Clothing Center
Kehila volunteers the second Tuesday of each month at the Interfaith Clothing Center, a program sponsored by Interfaith Works.
Kehila serves food to homeless patrons of Shepherd's Table on the third Thursday of every month.
Yom Kippur Food and Clothing Drive
Kehila collects non-perishable healthy foods, and lightly-used clothing and homegoods before and during Yom Kippur services.
