10:30 - Keren Hammerschlag: The Jewish Race in Victorian History Painting.
Keren is an art historian at Georgetown and a researcher in Art History and Women's and Gender Studies. She is also the Assistant Director of the Center for Jewish Civilization and a Faculty Affiliate in Residence in the Kennedy Institute of Ethics. Her research interests focus on Victorian and Edwardian art and visual culture, gender and the body, and the medical humanities. She teaches courses on Art and Medicine, British Art, Jews in Nineteenth-Century Art, and Gender and the Body in Victorian Art.
